In my last post, (which you can read here) I wrote about how much our family has been looking forward to having snow. We enjoyed reading winter books and voting on our favorites, but we decided to take it a step further and do a snow craft. With 3 kids in different developmental stages, crafting is not always easy but today I am going to share with you a simple and fun snow craft that is great for all ages. And it’s under $5!
Supplies:
- Construction Paper (any shade of blue or black)
- White Paint
- Paintbrush, q-tips, or cotton balls
- Glue
- Picture of your Kids!
Here is what our kids did:
Our two year old likes to paint but he finished rather quickly so I rotated the paper a few times and gave him blue paint as well.
For our five year old, I showed her a few options and let her choose what she would like to do. She decided to use a paintbrush and added a sun since it shines all year long 🙂
Our 8 year old wanted to try something different so she used a q-tip for the snow and added a snowman.
We all had a lot fun and all the kids had the freedom to put their own artistic spin on it. And they all came out equally great. I usually have to supervise the messes so I was glad to be able to simply enjoy joining in on this one.
How to Create Your Simple Snow Craft
- Print and cut out a picture of your kid!
- Gather the rest of your supplies!
- Dab snow on construction paper with white paint!
- Let it dry!
- Glue on picture!
- Write kid’s name and save!
I’m sure you have most of the supplies around the house. Even if you don’t, all of these items can be found at your local Dollar Tree. Even with the cost of printing, it’s a seriously cute craft that won’t break the bank (and it would make an adorable keepsake for a grandparent!)
